Veronica's Academic Ambitions
Tonight Veronica was telling Harrison (and me) that after 6th grade she would be going to Junior High, and then after Junior High she would go to High School, then after High School she would go to College--and then--after College she would come home and be free!!!!

Scenes from a Snow Day--Alabama Style

Here are some scenes from our first school "snow day." Careful observers will notice the absence of one critical component. Speculation has arisen that maybe school officials just wanted a "hangover" day to recover from celebrating Alabama's football win. The picture that looks like an ice hockey puck is actually the size of a large trash can (it was water that was inside one of our trash cans). David carried it to the top of our hill and tried to "sled" down the hill on it. The grass is where it and he landed. I couldn't really see any of this, though, because it was completely dark outside when he did it.

Snow Day???
Well Veronica is about to have her first "snow day." Although it is not actually snowing yet, all Montgomery schools will be closed tomorrow due to the "threat" of snow. We're supposed to get about an inch. The temperature is not supposed to go above freezing at all tomorrow. But as of right now, it's still raining. When we got the automated call about school closing, Veronica was in the process of doing her homework. David foolishly told her about the school closing BEFORE she finished. She immediately got up and did a happy dance. David, however, told Veronica she could stay up late if she finished her homework. And she actually did! David thinks that either someone in the school system just wanted to stay out late and party tonight if Alabama wins the BCS game, which is still going on right now, or a Texas fan is pulling a big prank on all the students.
