The Nutcracker

Wow! I can't believe how long it's been since I've posted something here. Maybe I should make a pre-New Year's resolution to start writing more often--that way I can break it before the New Year even starts! Anyway . . . tonight David took Veronica to see the Montgomery Ballet's performance of The Nutcracker. He's taken her the past 3 years in a row. She always seems to like part of it, but not all. Tonight was no exception. At intermission, she told David that "one episode was enough for her." A nearby teen-ager laughed and said he agreed. While David and Veronica were getting their dose of culture, Harrison, Violet, and I stayed home and watched "Scooby Doo Pirates Ahoy!" I've lost count of how many times we've rented it. Violet is saying more words; one of her favorites is "no!" which is cute right now, but probably won't be for long! When Harrison says goodnight to Violet he tells her to have "sweet nightmares." I guess he's a typical big brother!
